Development of Life Skills

At Alora Care, our Development of Life Skills supports are designed to help participants build the practical skills, confidence, and independence needed to live life on their own terms and actively participate in their community.

We take a person-centred and strengths-based approach, tailoring all supports to each participant’s individual goals, abilities, and support needs under their NDIS plan.

Our life skills supports include:

  • Personal Care & Daily Routines - Supporting participants to manage personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and daily routines in a way that promotes dignity and independence.
  • Health & Wellbeing - Assisting participants to develop healthy lifestyle habits, including nutrition planning, physical activity, medication prompts, and attending medical or allied health appointments.
  • Budgeting & Financial Skills - Supporting participants to build skills in budgeting, paying bills, managing spending, and understanding everyday financial responsibilities.
  • Household & Home Management - Building practical skills for everyday living, such as cooking, meal planning, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and organised home environment.
  • Social & Communication Skills - Supporting participants to develop communication, confidence, and interpersonal skills to build relationships, engage socially, and participate in community activities.
  • Travel & Community Access - Assisting participants to build confidence using public transport, planning routes, attending appointments, and travelling safely within the community.
  • Employment & Education Skills - Supporting skill development for education or employment goals, including resume preparation, job searching, interview skills, and workplace readiness.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making - Encouraging independence through developing problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills for everyday situations.
  • Safety & Emergency Awareness - Supporting participants to understand personal safety, emergency procedures, and how to seek help when needed.
  • Technology & Digital Skills - Assisting participants to use everyday technology such as smartphones, computers, apps, and online services to increase independence and access information.

Assistance with Daily Living

At Alora Care, our Assistance with Daily Living supports provide practical, day-to-day assistance with essential activities, enabling participants to live safely and comfortably in their own home and community.

These supports focus on doing and supporting, rather than teaching or training, and are delivered in line with each participant’s NDIS plan and support needs. The level of assistance provided is flexible and can change from day to day.



Our Assistance with Daily Living supports include:

  • Personal Care - Assistance with personal activities such as showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting, delivered with respect for dignity and choice.
  • Meal Preparation & Eating - Support with preparing meals and assistance during mealtimes where required.
  • Mobility & Transfers - Assistance with moving safely within the home, transfers between positions, and use of mobility aids as needed.
  • Household Tasks - Support with routine household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
  • Medication Assistance - Support with medication prompts and assistance in accordance with agreed support plans.
  • Community Access - Assistance to attend appointments, complete errands, and access community activities.
  • Supervision & Safety - Providing supervision to support participant safety and wellbeing during daily activities, particularly where risks have been identified.

Support Coordination & Specialist Support Coordination

At Alora Care, we provide both Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination, supporting participants to understand, implement, and manage their NDIS plans while navigating complex support environments.

Our approach is person-centred, responsive, and focused on ensuring supports are effective, coordinated, and aligned with each participant’s goals, needs, and circumstances.


Our Support Coordination services include:

Understanding & Implementing NDIS Plans
Supporting participants to understand their NDIS plan, funded supports, budgets, and how to use their funding appropriately.

  • Connecting with Supports & Services - Assisting participants to identify, engage, and coordinate suitable service providers, including support workers, allied health professionals, and community or mainstream services.
  • Coordinating Supports Across Services - Liaising with multiple providers and stakeholders to ensure supports are coordinated, consistent, and responsive to participant needs.
  • Monitoring & Reviewing Supports - Monitoring how supports are working, identifying gaps or issues, and supporting adjustments as needs or circumstances change.
  • Managing Changes, Transitions & Crises - Providing support during periods of change such as plan reviews, housing transitions, hospital admissions, service breakdowns, or crisis situations.
  • Risk Identification & Management - Identifying risks to participant wellbeing, safety, or plan sustainability and supporting appropriate responses in line with NDIS requirements.
  • Advocacy & Decision Support - Supporting participants to exercise choice and control, make informed decisions, and ensure their rights and preferences are respected.


Specialist Support Coordination

Where funded, Alora Care provides Specialist Support Coordination for participants with complex needs, high risks, or multiple service systems involved.

This may include:

  • Managing complex and high-risk support environments
  • Intensive coordination during ongoing crises
  • Navigating multiple service systems and interfaces
  • Supporting long-term stability and risk reduction

All Support Coordination services are delivered in line with NDIS Practice Standards, the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, and the level of funding included in the participant’s plan.

Household Tasks

At Alora Care, our Household Tasks supports provide practical assistance with everyday domestic activities, helping participants maintain a clean, safe, and functional living environment.

These supports focus on hands-on assistance with household activities, delivered in line with each participant’s NDIS plan and individual support needs.


Our Household Tasks supports include:

  • Cleaning - Assistance with routine household cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Laundry - Support with washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and household linens.
  • Dishwashing & Kitchen Upkeep - Assistance with washing dishes, loading and unloading dishwashers, and maintaining a tidy kitchen area.
  • Gardening & Outdoor Tasks - Support with basic outdoor maintenance such as mowing, weeding, and watering, where included in the participant’s plan.
  • Minor Household Maintenance - Assistance with minor household tasks to support a safe and functional living environment.
  • Grocery Shopping - Support with purchasing groceries and essential household items, including transporting and putting items away.
  • Meal Preparation Support - Assistance with basic meal preparation tasks such as cutting, cooking, and storing food where required.
  • Waste Management - Support with household waste disposal, including taking out rubbish and recycling.
  • Organisation & Decluttering - Assistance with organising living spaces to support safety, accessibility, and day-to-day functioning.

All Household Tasks supports are individualised, practical, and delivered in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards, supporting participants to maintain their home environment and overall wellbeing.
